Taskies + PC Control
A test version where Josh and Hope can work your PC for you: open apps, click, type, play a song, set things up. You watch it happen, and pressing Esc twice stops it.

Try saying
- “Open Notepad and type a shopping list.”
- “Put Chrome and File Explorer side by side.”
- “Turn on night light.”
- “Play The Adults are Talking on Spotify.”
- “Search the Steam store for racing games and leave it for me.”
- “Open a Gmail draft to Sam about Friday.” (you press Send)
It works in live voice calls, and in typed chat when Josh and Hope are set to Gemini.
Get started
- Quit Taskies if it’s running (tray icon → Quit). Two can’t run at once.
- Extract the zip and double-click Taskies.exe. If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway (Taskies isn’t code-signed yet).
- That’s it. PC control is already on. The first time, it sets itself up in the background (about 2 minutes, internet needed). Then just ask Josh or Hope.
If PC control says it couldn’t set itself up
Check your internet connection, then open Settings → PC control and click Reconnect. Still stuck? Install uv by hand, once, in PowerShell, then click Reconnect:
powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"
What it never does
It is built to refuse these, and to say so instead:
- Type passwords, PINs, card numbers or one-time codes.
- Press buy, pay, place order or send. It stops and hands that step to you.
- Answer CAPTCHAs.
- See or touch password managers, banking and payment pages, WhatsApp, Windows Security, or Taskies itself.
- Open a terminal, Task Manager or the registry editor.
Read this before you try it
- It’s a test, and it acts on your real PC. It’s on from the first run, and by default it clicks and types straight away, without asking each time. Press Esc twice to stop it; Settings → PC control → Disconnect turns it off. It can make mistakes, so save your work first and don’t leave anything important open.
- What it reads on screen goes to Google’s Gemini, the AI behind live calls. With a Gemini key in Settings it can also send a picture of a window. Close anything private before you start.
- The helpers aren’t ours. On first run it downloads two open-source programs: uv (by Astral, a Python tool runner, checked against a fixed checksum before it’s used) and Windows-MCP (by CursorTouch, not Microsoft), which does the clicking.
- Antivirus may complain. The double-Esc stop listens to the keyboard, but only checks for the Esc key and ignores the rest.
Going back
Settings → PC control → Disconnect turns it off. To use your normal Taskies again, quit this one and start your normal one. The next normal Taskies update also replaces this test version on its own.
Tell whoever sent you this what worked, what it got wrong, and anything that felt unsafe. That’s what the test is for.
